Summary of the first day of the Gardenia 2025 Fair
The first day of the GARDENIA 2025 International Horticulture and Landscape Architecture Fair is behind us. It was marked by inspiring meetings, expert lectures, and industry premieres. Professionals from the horticulture, landscape architecture, and floristry sectors gathered in the pavilions of the Poznań International Fair to exchange experiences, learn about new technologies, and discuss the future of greenery in urban spaces.
This year's edition was opened with a ceremonial launch attended by industry representatives, partners, and organizers. During the ceremony, anniversary statuettes and awards were presented—MTP Gold Medals, Acanthus Aureus, and Trend Leaders. The results of the “Greenery in the City” competition were also announced.
Fot: FotobuenoThe Certified Training conducted by the Polish Federation of Arborists attracted considerable interest. Throughout the day, it drew numerous specialists from the tree industry. The program included topics related to modern technologies and equipment for tree protection and diagnostics, including:
- “Modern GCL technologies for tree root protection,”
- “Air spade – equipment and technology for tree root protection,”
- “Tomography as a modern tree diagnostics technology,”
- “Load testing as a modern tree diagnostics technology,”
- “Modern equipment and technologies for moving older and old trees as an alternative to cutting them down,” “Modern technologies (gefa produkte fabritz gmbh) for strengthening and protecting trees,”
- “Equipment and technologies for scientists – dendrologists and arborists.”
Fot: Kasia Kajda FotografkaIn turn, the Poznań University of Life Sciences invited participants to interesting popular science lectures, including “Edible trees (and not only trees)” by Dr. Joanna Bykowska, “Wild edible and poisonous plants around us” by Dr. Piotr Kosiński, and “Beneficial insects versus aphids – how nature protects plants” by Prof. Beata Borowiak-Sobkowiak.
There were also floristry events and discussion panels. The main stage hosted the following shows:
- “MIF – Facts and Myths” with the participation of the International Floristry Institute, led by Tomasz Max Kuczyński, Anna Zagórska, and Edyta Zając,
- “Colorful Manifesto” performed by Monika Lis – Florist of the Year 2024,
- “Inspired by Tradition,” combining floristry with elements of Polish folk culture,
- “SEKUNDA Stylowo” by Floral Academy.
Fot: FotobuenoIn the Speakers Corner zone, the Polish Association of Garden Designers inaugurated a series of meetings devoted to challenges for green designers, including topics such as: “How to collect rainwater,” “What to plant so that it grows,” and “How to protect so that it lives.”
Fot: FotobuenoTomorrow, participants will be able to take part in further training sessions, demonstrations, and discussion panels, which will once again combine theory with practice and allow them to discover the latest trends in gardening and landscape architecture.
The GARDENIA 2025 fair will continue until October 17.
