The 20th Urban Garden Art Forum during Gardenia 2026
How can we design cities that are ready for the challenges of the future? How can we use green spaces to combat the urban heat island effect, drought and climate change? And how can public spaces support residents’ wellbeing?
Participants at the 20th Urban Garden Art Forum, which will take place on 7 October 2026 during the Gardenia Fair in Poznań, will seek answers to these and many other questions.
This year’s anniversary edition of the Forum will be held under the theme ‘Tomorrow’s Greenery and the Challenges of the Future’. The focus will be on solutions that can already change the way we design, manage and use urban green spaces.

Three areas, one common goal – better cities
The Forum programme has been divided into three thematic sessions:
🌿 Cooling cities
Discussions on cooling urban spaces, cooling islands, automated irrigation and plants that can better adapt to changing climatic conditions.
💧 Retaining water
Water as one of the most important elements of the city of the future. Participants will discuss, amongst other things, water retention, designing spaces with water in mind, and spontaneous vegetation.
🧠 Promoting mental wellbeing
Urban greenery is not just about aesthetics. It also provides spaces for rest, social interaction and enhancing quality of life. During the Forum, topics to be addressed will include neighbourhood green spaces, inclusive spaces, cities for all generations, and the impact of contact with nature on wellbeing.
The programme also includes a debate on the future of cities, in which experts will examine urban greenery from various perspectives – design, social, environmental and legal.
A gathering of professionals
For many years, the Forum has been a venue for the exchange of knowledge and experience amongst those who actively shape urban spaces – landscape architects, designers, representatives of local authorities and green space management bodies, urban gardeners, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers, researchers and industry experts.
The combination of the Forum with the Gardenia Fair gives participants the opportunity not only to listen to informative presentations, but also to discover new technologies, products and solutions for green spaces at the largest gathering of the horticultural and landscape architecture sectors in Poznań.
